Content & Social Media Specialist

Job Description

MBSC has an exciting opportunity for Content & Social Media Specialist based in King Abdullah Economic City which is located 100km North of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be primarily managing and leading all the content development, content management and copyrighting requirements for external and internal communication, for both digital and offline channels. S/he will also manage the college social media channels and should work independently on special projects in alignment with the head of marketing according to agreed timelines and special requests. The Ideal candidate must have 3+ years of experience as a copywriter/ digital content writer/Social Media Coordinator in a related post for an agency or corporation, (having worked within higher education is preferred but not mandatory). A bachelor degree holder is required, preference to those with digital marketing, communication, public relation or journalism degree.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Management

  • Manage the development of the editorial content calendar and ensure it is updated and implemented as required.
  • Manage all editorial and content development plans & efforts for the college such as creating content for the website, brochures, articles, press releases, email campaigns, among other items, in English primarily.
  • Proofreading of any content that will be used in any of our communication channels or brand assets, either for internal and external use (English)
  • Be the content champion for the college, managing the content repository and assuring the highest quality of all content that is produced for the public (external) and internal stakeholders.
  • Interface and coordinate where needed with internal customers (different offices) to provide content development services.
  • Preparation of presentations and reports as required by the Marketing Senior Manager.

Social Media

  • Create, coordinate, activate, and monitor all social calendars across MBSC social platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Follow MBSC brand & social media guidelines and work to further develop those guidelines in collaboration with the Brand & Design team
  • Source and develop on-brand visual content
  • Write compelling, short form copy and publish daily content based on the editorial calendar that builds meaningful and actionable engagement with the MBSC brand
  • Implement social media strategy and organization to meet daily and monthly traffic goals and increase engagement across social channels
  • Track and report metrics and trends with strategic analysis and recommendations, specifically, reporting social goals concerning company KPIs
  • Monitor trends, strategies, and best practices in the market and apply knowledge to MBSC social media promotional initiatives
  • Support for implementing all tactical communication campaigns throughout the year.
  • Work very closely with the marketing assistant manager to ensure the highest quality of communication material being created and produced.
  • Other support and administrative services for the marketing and communication office.

Skills

  • Social media management and copywriter experience is mandatory
  • Excellent copywriting and proof-reading skills.
  • Must be expert level on major social media platforms
  • Passionate about using social media to tell stories and build brands
  • Highly organized, exceptional with details and follow up
  • Ability to write compelling, short-form social media copy
  • Comfortable with working within a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with hyper attention to detail
  • Must be self-driven and motivated
  • Experience/exposure to the content development and management demands of a company
  • Ability to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders (strong communication, negotiation and relationship building skills required).
  • Proficient with office 365, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, google docs and other team collaboration tools
  • Expert English language skills (written and verbal).
  • Work well cross-functionally in a team environment.
  • Graphic design and online advertising experience preferred
